Removing Tree Stumps for a New Fence Line Installation
I was recently called out to a job in the village of Hundon, just outside Sudbury in Suffolk, where a customer needed several tree stumps removed to make way for a new fence line. The stumps were preventing the fence from being installed properly, so it was essential to clear the area first. Recently, I was also carrying out a job near Sudbury in Suffolk, at Acton, you can see the blog post here.
There were three or four stumps in total, including one from a Leylandii tree and a few others from ash trees. The stumps were located right in the line where the new fencing was to be erected, so precision was key.
To carry out the work, I used my Predator 38 RX stump grinder. This is a powerful and efficient tracked machine, ideal for both domestic and commercial jobs. One of the great features of the Predator 38 RX is that it can narrow down to just 66 cm, which makes it perfect for accessing tight gateways and narrow passageways — and that was certainly needed on this job!

Access to the garden was limited, so with the customer’s permission, I came in through the neighbour’s garden. This allowed me to get the machine into position without causing any damage or disruption to the property.
Once set up, the Predator 38 RX made quick work of the stumps, grinding each one down below ground level and leaving the site clean and ready for the fence installation to proceed. It’s always satisfying to complete a job where the machinery works efficiently and the customer is pleased with the result.
